    Installation

We think they've done what they can with fixing the bugs in 8, with the release of 8.02. We think we can recommend that to anyone who's not used EndNote before, but possibly not if they are trying to upgrade an earlier version.
Also the new version doesn't seem to be backwards compatible - though if you import libraries from an earlier version it with "upgrade" them to Version 8.02.
Do read these major software issues for 8.0.2, particularly:
The OpenURL linking function does not work. The OpenURL link is truncated at the first space that it encounters in a reference. Because the link is incorrectly formed, it cannot be resolved by a link resolver such as SFX.
However...if you put the address of your own linkserver (ask Paul woods) in the Preferences of EndNote Version 7, it actually works.

EndNote 5 is compatible with Word 95, 98, NT, and 2000.
