Gabrielle Hogan-Brun runs the British Academy funded Baltic Language and Integration Network (BLaIN), with the Universities of London (Institute of Education), Southampton, Tilburg (the Netherlands), Vilnius (Lithuania), Vytautas Magnus in Kaunas (Lithuania), Latvia in Riga, Tallinn (Estonia), Tartu (Estonia) as partner institutions. From 2000-2003 she co-ordinated The Lithuanian Language Communities Project (LLCP) She is Series Editor of the Palgrave Studies in Minority Languages and Communities. She has edited Language and Social Processes in the Baltic Republics Surrounding EU Accession (Journal of Multilingual and Multicultural Development 26/5, 2005, Special Issue), The Baltic Sociolinguistic Review (Journal of Baltic Studies XXXVl/3, 2005, Special Issue), Minority Languages in Europe: Frameworks - Status - Prospects (Palgrave, 2003); National Varieties of German outside Germany. A European Perspective (Peter Lang, 2000); Media, Multimedia, Omnimedia (Peter Lang, 1999). She has published papers inter alia in Language Policy, Current Issues in Language Planning, Journal for Multilingual & Multicultural Development, International Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism, System, and Computers and the Humanities. She is member of the British Association for Applied Linguistics (BAAL), the International Association of Applied Linguistics (AILA), the Association for the Advancement of Baltic Studies (AABS), and the British-Lithuanian Society.
