Simon Castens

Welcome to my homepage, courtesy of Bristol University where I work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the periodicals department of the Arts and Social Sciences Library

When I am not working at the Library, I run a specialist bookselling business from an old Great Western railway station in Limpley Stoke, near Bath. Limpley Stoke was the junction for the Camerton branch, which was the railway line used in the making of the "Titfield Thunderbolt" film in 1952.

Called the "The Titfield Thunderbolt" , it specialises in retailing new books on British railway subjects.

I have also produced a website on the film called the "Titfield Thunderbolt", together with a small book, "On the Trail of the Titfield Thunderbolt", the first publication in the world to cover this subject. Priced at £4.95, it is available from my shop for £5.50 including post and packing, see my website for fuller details.
